WSAVA 2025: Dr. Fergus Allerton (UK)
Dr. Fergus Allerton graduated from the University of Bristol in 2004 and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Liege, Belgium. He is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Medicine and currently works at Willows Referral Service. He is actively involved in veterinary antibiotic stewardship and contributed to the development of the PROTECT ME guidelines.
WSAVA 2025: Alyssa C. Mages BS, CVT (USA)
As CVO of Empowering Veterinary Teams® (EVT), Alyssa leads content development, clinical training, and the overall strategic direction. With a BS in Marine Biology and an AS in Veterinary Technology, she is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who has spent over 20 years in the veterinary profession.
WSAVA 2025: Dr. Gustavo Machicote (Spain)
Veterinary dermatologist. AVEPA accredited in dermatology. Master in Oncology. He practices his specialty in two centers in Vilanova de Arousa and Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Author and co-author of numerous books and publications in national and international journals. Lecturer in veterinary dermatology in numerous countries in Europe and America.
WSAVA 2025: Dr. Hameedunisha Tajudeen (India)
Dr. Hameedunisha Tajudeen is a veterinary neurologist, educator, and wellness advocate based in Bangalore, India. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2017 and became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in 2022. Her passion for veterinary neurology began early in her clinical career, leading her to pursue advanced training in small animal neurology and neurosurgery at the Royal Veterinary College, London, Cornell University (USA), Cambridge University, and Glasgow University.
WSAVA 2025: Dr. Antonio Maria Tardo (Italy)
Graduated with honors from the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna in 2018. Completed a Rotating Internship in small animal internal medicine at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna in 2019. In 2021, enrolled in a European Residency program in small animal internal medicine under the supervision of Prof. Federico Fracassi. Undertook externships at the University of Zurich, Utrecht University, University of Florida, University of Missouri, and University of Lisbon. In 2025, obtained his PhD and EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist status in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Currently employed at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna as a Research Fellow.
WSAVA 2025: Dr. Barbro Filliquist (USA)
Dr. Barbro Filliquist received her DVM from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia 2006-2007 and her residency at UC Davis SVM from 2007-2010. Following completion of the residency, she spent 7 years in private practice and 5 of those years were in Sweden. Dr. Filliquist has been at University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine since 2017. When not working, she enjoys the outdoors with her husband, their 10-year-old son and their 2 crazy German Shepherds. Their cat chooses not to come along.

DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECVIM-Ca (Oncology) EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Oncology Head of the Oncology Department, Small Animal Clinic, Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany Member of the WOW WSAVA Oncology Working Group Dr. Nataliia Ignatenko is a passionate veterinarian and educator with a strong dedication to improving the lives of animals suffering from cancer. With 29 years of clinical experience, she continues to be deeply committed to advancing veterinary oncology through research, international collaboration, and daily clinical work.
WSAVA 2025: Dr. Petra Cerna (USA)
Dr. Černá is an ACVIM diplomate in small animal internal medicine. She graduated from the University of Veterinary Sciences in the Czech Republic in 2018 where she also obtained her PhD in 2023. After completing two internships in the UK, she completed Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency at Colorado State University, USA in 2023. Dr. Černá was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Feline Medicine and also gained the Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the Medicine of Cats.
